Areas of Therapy
What is Therapy Like with Danielle?
I approach sexual health and intimacy concerns from a holistic, person-centered, and trauma informed way. This means addressing not only your sexual concerns, but how these interact with the biological, social, emotional, generational, and spiritual layers of you. Sexual concerns rarely occur in a vacuum and frequently intersect with other aspects of our lives, so treating the whole person is important. As a life-long student of Intersectionality, Queer Theory, Feminist Theory and Intersectional Feminism, Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression, and Social and Restorative Justice, my therapeutic work is informed and grounded in these foundations.
Talking about sex and intimacy concerns can be challenging and intimidating. I often hear, “I can talk to my partner about anything, except sex”. I work with you to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space to explore your needs and desires and uncover your authentic sexual self. Whether you are in a relationship or single, learning your sexual needs and how to communicate them is important and beneficial.

Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity
A primary focus of my practice is working with gender, relationship, and sexual minorities and diversity in sexual expression. This is a safe space for those who are polyamorous, consensually non-monogamous, kinky/BDSM, LGBTQIA+, non-binary, sex workers, or Queer. Sex therapy is a non-judgmental space to explore your desires and curiosity and learn how to communicate these within a relationship.

Women's + AFAB Therapy
When you have a medical problem, you want to see a doctor who has special training in women’s and AFAB health. You deserve the same specialized care when it comes to your mental health. Things like trauma, anxiety, body image and self esteem, systemic oppression, and sexual health concerns affect women and AFAB folks in unique ways. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the challenges women/AFAB folks face in their healing process, you’ve come to the right place.

LGBTQ+ Concerns
I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and have lived experience in addition to advanced clinical knowledge addressing concerns specific to the LBGTQ+ community including: exploring sexuality, compulsory heterosexuality, coming out concerns, mixed orientation relationships, and religious trauma. I am a GALAP(provide link here) pledge signer and provide trans and gender affirming care through an informed consent model (WPATH and ICATH considerations).

Religious Trauma
Purity culture is a specific source of religious trauma that can cause deep feelings of sexual shame that can impact intimate relationships. Therapy can help you identify ways purity culture teachings affect you and help you to examine and reconstruct your sexual ethic into a healthier version that feels more authentic to you.
